Ridge Augmentation Procedures

Description

Deformities in the jaw most likely have inadequate bone to place a dental implant. To correct the problem, the gum is lifted away from the ridge to expose the bone defect. The bone defect is augmented with bone or bone substitute to build the ridge. After 4 months of healing, a dental implant is placed. Finally, a single crown is made with the normal contour of natural teeth.

Case. This patient was treated with hard tissue augmentation (bone block technique)  and an implant.
