Sinus Augmentation or lift Procedures Description The upper back jaw may not have sufficient bone due to periodontal disease or extractions. If this condition is present, you may not have sufficient bone to place dental implants. Sinus augmentation correct this problem by raising the sinus floor and developing new bone for the placement of implants. The procedure consists of raising the gum tissue, exposing the bone, making a small window to access the sinus cavity. A bone graft material is placed to regenerate the lost tissue. In most cases, the implants are placed at the same time. The area is allowed to heal for 6 months. Case Case. This patient was treated with sinus augmentation and two implants.Notice how the sinus floor changed after the sinus lift procedure (Right X-Ray). Implant placements were done at the same appointment of the sinus lift procedure. ________________________________________________________________________________ Length Average 1 hours or more Cases are followed closely for 6 months.
