Soft Tissue Augmentation Procedures Description Deformities in the jaw can leave you with inadequate bone to fabricate an esthetic bridge. This is caused by periodontal disease, wearing dentures, developmental defects, injury or trauma. The deformity causes problems because not only is unattractive but, may be difficult to clean and maintain. To correct the problem, the gum is lifted away from the ridge to expose the defect. The defect is filled with gum tissue to build the ridge. Finally, a three unit bridge is made with the normal contour of natural teeth. Case
